When you go to buy a pair of shoes you spend at least a few minutes checking out the fit, comfort and safety factors. When you go to buy a car you put in so much research about the safety features amongst other factors. So why is that we tend to bother about safety features in everything else but our food?
First please stop being a slave to your senses. Once you can achieve, that you can have a more common sense approach towards food and taste. It is for a reason that everything tasty is harmful to us and most bitters are very good. But what do people choose?
Forget diets of all kinds, they never help. When you stop following the diet you get what is called a yo-yo effect and you put on much more weight than you had to start with. The easiest way to stay within the desired weight range is to engage in daily vigorous exercise (preferably cardio-vascular) and eliminate three items from your diet – meat, dairy, and sugar.
Let’s begin with this white poison called Milk. The fixation with milk is so deeply rooted in every culture that to say anything against it is kind of blasphemous. Whenever I have tried to tell somebody that milk is causing you only harm and no good, I am confronted with glares and suspicious eyes.
If cow’s milk is good for anyone it is only and only the calf. A calf typically weighs around 100 lbs at birth and gains approximately 8 times its weight by the time it is weaned. But unlike humans, once cows are weaned, they never drink milk again. And this applies to every mammalian species on this planet.
Cow’s milk contains about 3 times the amount of protein than human milk. So when humans consume this, it creates metabolic disturbances in them that have detrimental bone health consequences amongst a variety of other dangerous ones. That excess protein remains in your gut and converts to fat in the adipose tissue.
The undigested milk residue is in the form an enzyme called renin. Now we have enough renin in our body which is made thru the kidney cells. Excess of renin disturbs this balance in the body and elevates blood pressure and ruins the kidneys.
Milk also depletes the calcium in the bones and causes fractures in childhood and hip fractures and osteoporosis later. You can get far more calcium from spinach, kale, broccoli and bok choi amongst many other sources.
Like any other animal-derived protein-rich food, milk also has positive potential renal acid load or PPAL which triggers a biological reaction to neutralize all the damaging acidic proteins before it reaches the kidneys. Since the body is designed for survival it sacrifices bone density to protect the kidneys and the urinary tract because the latter are essential for survival. So even though milk contains calcium it ends sapping your bones of this crucial mineral. Pasteurization and Homogenization processing have further added a long list of pulmonary and digestive disorders.
The enzyme to digest lactose is called lactase and most of us do not have this in us . After the age of two , when we are weaned of milk, the lactase enzyme in our bodies depletes rapidly since we no longer need milk. It causes bloating and pain and indigestion as a result.
Children who consume any form of dairy end up having constipation, ear infection, allergies, upper and lower respiratory congestion and bone loss. Be kind to your kids, do not give them dairy products.
Processed meat is declared a carcinogen by the World Health Organization too. It is devoid of fibre and other nutrients which could thwart cancer. Meat contains animal protein,fat, antibiotics, drugs, and in some cases carcinogenic compounds such as HCA or heterocyclic amines and PAH or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons which are formed during the processing or cooking.
I think everybody knows that meat contains cholesterol and saturated fats which are linked to heart disease, hypertension, stroke, diabetes and various types of cancers. Saturated fat has also been linked to breast cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia and cognitive decline.
Meat also carries the highest risk of food-borne illness. I could go on and on about the dangers associated with eating meat.
Sugar, especially white processed sugar is not food at all and is entirely chemical. Sugar, in my opinion, is one of the most damaging substances you could ingest.
Sugar overloads and damages your liver and causes weight gain and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Fructose fools your metabolism by turning off your body’s appetite control system. It fails to stimulate insulin which in turn fails to suppress Ghrelin, the hunger hormone which then fails to stimulate Leptin or the satiety hormone. This causes you to eat more and develop insulin resistance, better known as type 2 diabetes.
It causes metabolic dysfunction. Eating sugar causes a barrage of symptoms known as classic metabolic syndrome which include weight gain, abdominal obesity, decreased HDL and increased LDL, elevated blood sugar, elevated triglycerides and high blood pressure.
It increases your uric acid levels which is a risk factor for heart and kidney disease.
There is a very powerful connection between a high fructose diet and Alzheimer’s disease due to the constant burning of glucose for fuel by your brain.
If you continue to abuse your bodies, continue to disregard the consequences, it won’t end well. Please stop having all of the 3 foods and gift a newer updated and upgraded you to your children and families. Fight these Villains in your kitchen by throwing them out of your house.
